Individual therapy with adults and teens

The choice to enter therapy is as varied as the individual, but it is always a choice to make yourself and your life a priority.  For some it is a process of deep self- exploration and expansion.  For everyone it is a journey of learning about your inner wisdom, strengths, and a chance to know yourself better.  What is revealed is often more self-confidence and self-awareness that leads to overall enlightenment.

Therapy with us will feel safe, non-judgemental, and supportive. This could feel a lot like talking with a close friend. But, unlike a friend, we hold safe space with enough experience and skill that you do not have to worry about sharing too much, burdening someone else, or triggering someone else.

solutions not problems

It's normal to experience anxiety, depression, and perhaps just confusion when confronted with the uncertainty of life's changes.  We chose the word solutions to describe what is discovered in therapy rather than focusing on problems. We use a strengths based approach that is positive and compassionate.  For both adults and teens, focusing on a person’s inner strength and wisdom gives a solid foundation to build confidence and find solutions.  This looks like using structured skills based learning in techniques like CBT and DBT.  It also looks like using body focused and emotion focused skills with techniques like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness, EMDR and more.

For some who want to go deeper and are not experiencing “problems” or “crisis”, therapy can also be a place that helps you grow over time and gain insight into your life.  Some people call this growth work, we call this continuing personal education.  Being open to curiosity about yourself and your life is part of the beginning of deepening the relationships with your own self and those around you.  Overall the therapy journey is one of self-exploration with emphasis on the systems that we come into contact with every day.  In therapy this looks like Person Centered, Gestalt, and Existential conversations that are client led and client centered.  We help formulate a systems based lens to build skills that help deepen your ability to show up in relationships with authenticity and vulnerability.
